Tale of the Tapes

Cr248ch Whether it was about a boy you were crushing on or a homemade best-of collection, mixtapes were a required high school accessory - maybe even more than a can of mousse and a Trapper Keeper. We all have a bag of old tapes sitting somewhere in our parents' basement.

Crosley feels our pain. The Songwriter 5-in-1 will take our musty, dusty tapes and record them in MP3 format using the built-in CD player! Ditto for vinyl, including all three speeds: 33 1/3, 45 and 78. Few devices burn tapes and vinyl to CD, at least not with extra equipment. Everything here is self-contained in a vintage-looking record player. The speakers on the side make it not only a dubber, but a solid player in itself.

The Crosley CR248 Songwriter 5-in-1 Ripping Entertainment Center is availble through Brookstone and other stores for $399.95.
